First, he investigates what the passage meant in its historical context, and then he applies the passage to contemporary life.

SUNDAY, 05/26/13 - As One Who Serves (Luke 22:24-34)
Jesus outlines the great privilege of being a disciple. He also calls on His disciples to live a life of service to God and to others. It is in this paradox of serving our way to greatness that the purposes of Christ are furthered. When we began to think of ourselves (including the level of our commitment to Christ) more highly than we ought, we end up denying the Lord as Peter did.
